Hi, I’m Dan. I didn’t take a straight path into this work. I struggled at school and originally trained as a gardener before moving into tree surgery. I came into massage therapy later than many people, starting at around 28 years old, but once I found it, things developed quickly from there.
Over the years I’ve gained qualifications including a Level 5 BTEC in Sports and Remedial Massage, Level 4 Sports Massage, Level 3 Remedial Massage, Level 3 Swedish Massage and Counselling Skills Level 2. I’ve also worked within the NHS in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, particularly supporting people living with arthritis and long-term joint issues.
I’ve always had an interest in physical training, movement and sport.
Earlier in life, I spent time training in martial arts, including karate, Muay Thai, kickboxing, and jujitsu, and I still keep active through gym training. I believe maintaining strength and physical capability is important for long-term health, resilience, and quality of life.
Professionally, I’ve worked with a wide range of people, from everyday clients dealing with aches, stiffness, and physical limitations through to athletes in demanding environments, including work with Cardiff Rugby, Sport Wales, and Welsh Athletics.
My approach is practical and individual. I try to stay up to date with current thinking and understand that people do not all fit neatly into the same box. I don’t believe in keeping people dependent on treatment longer than necessary. My aim is to help people build resilience, understand their bodies better, and leave with useful advice and strategies they can use themselves at home and in everyday life.
Outside of work, I’m also a parent, which has probably reinforced my belief that physical health needs to work around real life, not the other way around.
I enjoy working with a wide variety of clients and genuinely don’t think physical improvement is only for athletes. Whether someone wants to perform better, stay independent as they get older, recover from training, or simply move through life with less discomfort, I believe everybody deserves support that is realistic, supportive, and useful.
